The second part of the Athens Mummy Project, i.e.: the CT-Scanning of the remaining four mummies from Panopolis, took place with great success, in absolute coordination and with adequate media coverage. These mummies and their sarcophagi are kept at the premises of the Egyptian Collection of the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. The whole project took place successfully with the close collaboration of the Museum, the Institute and the Athens Medical Group, where the non-invasive scanning of the mummies was performed using the modern CT-Scanner Somatom 64. All mummies were transported under the protection of the Hellenic Police, their transportation being sponsored by the Orphée Beinoglou Group. The Institute thanks all involved parties for their excellent collaboration.
