A new interesting book (4th in the Series Occasional Publications of the Hellenic Institute of Egyptology), authored by Dr Dr Alicia Maravelia (Egyptologist), Dr Elsa Faviou, MD (Biopathologist) and Mr Markos Filianos (Pharmacist), has just appeared, which was sponsored by distinguished partners, between which the Athens Medical Group. The topic is ancient Egyptian kyphi and the Holy Chrism of the Orthodox Church and the book contains new important information on the Institute’s KYPHI-Project, as well as on the special fumigation experiments performed by our Team, in order to test the kyphi’s medical/pharmaceutical action on cultivations of micro-organisms. The book was foreworded by Dr Hedvig Győry (Museum of Fine Arts and HEFS-AEC, Budapest, Hungary).
